About Me

Matthew is currently in his 5th and final year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University.  He will graduate in May of 2017 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering with a focus in the mechanical option.  Mr. Torello is an active member of ASHRAE, Student Society of Architectural Engineering (SSAE), and THON.  He also participated in the 2016 ASHRAE Design Competition where his team was awarded 2nd place.

 

Since beginning his college career in the fall of 2012, Matthew has broadened his building industry exposure.  The summer after his sophomore year he spent working with a mechanical contractor.  The past two summers, Matthew interned with Barton Associates, an MEP consulting firm in York, Pennsylvania, where he worked on projects that focused on Education and Healthcare.  Mr. Torello plans to take his Fundamental Exam (FE) this sprinjg and to then gain EIT status upon graduation.  Matthew accepted a full-time job at Barton Associates where he will be working as a mechanical designer, in order to continue to gain knowledge and experience in the field.  He also plans to obtain his license as a Professional Engineer (PE).


Outside of school, Matthew enjoys playing hockey and soccer.  He spent his first two years in college on the Penn State Altoona Club Ice Hockey team.  He also enjoys outside activities like going to the beach, boating, watersports, and mountain biking.
